The United Arab Emirates is known for a lot of things: shopping, amazing destinations to explore and obviously food! Yesterday the first Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony took place at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers last night (Monday, February 7, 2022) and out of 50, the UAE grabbed 19 places!
Three places were from Abu Dhabi and the rest 16 were from Dubai. Hakkasan Abu Dhabi was ranked 25th in the area, Coya was ranked 34th, while steakhouse Butcher & Still was placed 48th. 3 Fils, an unlicensed restaurant in Jumeirah Fishing Harbour founded by two Emiratis and Singaporean chef Akmal Anuar, battled off strong competition to be awarded the title of the best restaurant in the Middle East at the ceremony.
Other notable winners included DIFC’s long-serving izakaya-style restaurant Zuma which came in second; critically acclaimed Tresind Studio, which came in fourth; and Orfali Bros Bistro, founded by three food-loving brothers from Syria, which came in sixth. LPM was ranked eighth, Gaia was ranked tenth, & Il Borro Tuscan Bistro was placed eleventh.
