Revival of Old French Cannons
This year, the Dubai Police will revive two old French cannons as part of the Iftar activities during the month of Ramadan, pursuant to the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. The historical and heritage value of these cannons, used in the 1960s and retired in 1970 and placed in the Dubai Police Museum, is being recognized this year.
As we eagerly await the holy month of Ramadan, the announcement of the Iftar time with the traditional cannon firing adds to the anticipation and excitement. Dubai’s commitment to preserving cultural and traditional values is commendable, and the revival of the old French cannons is a testament to this. We look forward to experiencing this unique tradition once again this year.
