Egypt Is Now Offering A Multi-Year Visa On Arrival To Tourists Of Over 180 Countries

Visa Rules For Egypt As Per Country

The Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Issa, has recently made an exciting announcement that will simplify the visa application process for travelers. According to Issa, tourists from 180 different countries will now be able to obtain tourist visas-on-arrival for Egypt, as long as they already possess a valid visa for the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, Japan, or any Schengen country, and have used it at least once.   1. Egypt will soon allow Iranians travelling with tour groups to obtain visas on arrival in the south of the Sinai peninsula, with a view to extending access to other parts of the country. This region is home to the highly secured resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, which is a popular tourist destination. The new visa rules will be evaluated and may be extended to other parts of the country.
  2. Visa rules for tourists from India residing in Gulf countries have also been relaxed, with visas now available on arrival.
  3. Visa rules for tourists from China residing in Gulf countries have also been relaxed, with visas now available on arrival.
  4. Additionally, a USD 700, five-year multiple-entry visa will be available to investors and property owners based outside of Egypt.

Requirement To Apply For An Egyptian Visa

Travelers seeking visa-free travel must ensure that they possess a valid passport, which is typically valid for at least six months from their date of departure. Additionally, they must obtain travel health insurance that meets the requirements of their chosen destination country

Improved Diplomatic Relations

These new measures are being announced as some Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt, take steps to ease regional tensions. Saudi Arabia and Iran, two of Egypt’s allies, have announced that they will restore diplomatic relations, a move that is likely to boost tourism to the region.
