  • Saw Sinatra in Charlotte a few yrs ago , well past his glory days I knew that he was going to rely on chorus and backup singers but I Had to kind of” pay my respects” to him From ‘Strangers in the Night ‘ ,when we came to the USA, 1966 circa, to his movies, whether they were musicals , dramas or those Private Eye ones , he is one of the main reasons why I genuinely like ” From Here to Eternity” as one of my favorite anytime movies Of course , that Burt Lancaster role in it only reinforced my appreciation for both ” Real Men” on and off the screen! Sometimes in ‘the small hours of the night’ if I don’t listen to smooth jazz, it is Sinatra s voice that I listen to more than the rest combined Tributes: must be tough to imitate his diction , ways and presence There was an older gentleman that would make the rounds in his Sinatra tribute, but I wonder with how many songs could he keep the audience interested I prefer listening to ” The Best Of” anyone, instead I’d really love to read the real long affair with that screen magnet Ava Gardner but not a movie: nobody can play Sinatra even if there are rumors of De Caprio making a movie about Blue Eyes Stop it, it won’t work! My Way,,,, let it stay that way Thanks for reminding us for ” When we were young”
