Join The Global Movement
Mark your calendars for this Sunday, May 5th, because that’s when the 11th edition of the Wings for Life World Run will take place. Runners and wheelchair users from all corners of the globe are getting ready for this inclusive event, which is known as the largest of its kind.
The Wings for Life World Run has left its mark, raising over 43.8 million euros since its inception in 2014. With over 1.2 million registered participants spanning 195 countries, this event has become a global movement.
A Collaborative Effort
Thanks to partnerships with Dubai Sports Council, Expo City Dubai, Adidas, Emirates Hospitals, and Fitze, the UAE leg of the race will be held at Expo City Dubai. Amna Abulhoul, Executive Creative Director at Expo City Dubai, is thrilled to be part of such a meaningful event, highlighting the community’s shared commitment to finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

Start Together, Finish Differently
Whether you’re running, rolling, jogging, or walking, every participant will begin at the same time, 3:00 PM. But here’s the twist – instead of racing toward a traditional finish line, you’re chased by a virtual Catcher Car on the Wings for Life app. Once it catches you, your race ends, marking your contribution to the cause. Every step or roll you take contributes to spinal cord research, with 100% of entry fees going directly to the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation.
Dubai’s Excitement
Dubai Sports Council is fully behind the event, echoing its mission to promote inclusive sports and support meaningful causes. They’re looking forward to seeing the community come together for this important cause. Dubai participants are also buzzing with excitement. Red Bull athlete Yahya Alghassani emphasises the empowering nature of participating in the run and contributing to spinal cord research.
