1. Mandatory Genetic Testing For Premarital Screening In Abu Dhabi

If you plan on getting married in Abu Dhabi, as of October 1st, all UAE Citizens will need to undergo mandatory genetic testing as part of their premarital screening process. Couples can easily get tested at any of the 22 primary care centres across Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra, and Al Ain. The test results, which will be available in 14 days, are crucial in identifying shared genetic mutations that could potentially lead to preventable diseases in future children. It’s an important step towards ensuring the health and well-being of future generations of Emirati families in the country.

2. Express Entry to the US for Emirati Citizens

Starting in October, UAE citizens holding valid US visas can expedite their entry into the country through the Global Entry Programme. This means less time spent in long queues and filling out extra paperwork. Once registered, UAE travellers can breeze through the arrival process at Global Entry kiosks, either at US Customs and Border Protection Pre-clearance facilities or any US port of entry. It’s all part of an agreement signed during the UAE President’s recent visit to Washington, aiming to make travel smoother for UAE citizens.

3. New Traffic Radars In Ajman

Starting October 1, driving in Ajman will become much safer, thanks to the introduction of new traffic radars. These high-tech devices are designed to catch serious traffic violations, including using mobile phones while driving and failing to wear seat belts. These offences carry penalties of an AED 400 fine and four black points on your licence. So, if you’re behind the wheel, stay alert because these smart radars are all set to keep the roads safer for everyone.

These updates are part of the UAE’s continuous efforts to improve safety, streamline processes, and promote health. Whether you’re driving, travelling, or getting married, these new changes are designed to make life smoother and safer for all.
