On November 14, Symbiosis International University (SIU), one of India’s most renowned educational institutions, celebrated the official inauguration of its first international campus in Dubai Knowledge Park. The grand event, held at the Hilton Hotel, was attended by distinguished figures, including His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and His Excellency Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs. And over 1,000 Symbiosis alumni who hold leadership roles across the UAE were also present. A First For Indian Universities In Dubai
SIU’s Dubai campus, which welcomed its first cohort of over 100 students in September, is a landmark achievement. It is the first Indian university in Dubai to operate with full accreditation from the UAE’s Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), and the Ministry of Education (MOE). This milestone aligns perfectly with Dubai’s D33 agenda and the Education 33 strategy, aiming to prepare students for a future-ready workforce with globally recognised, high-quality education.
Leaders Share Their Vision At The Inauguration
In his keynote address, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan praised the initiative as a significant step in fostering academic innovation and collaboration between the UAE and India. “This campus will create a positive impact on the UAE’s higher education sector by offering advanced programs that meet global market needs. Dubai is your second home, a city of vibrant opportunities,” he said.
Dr. S. Jaishankar echoed these sentiments, calling the campus a proud achievement for both Symbiosis and Indian higher education. He emphasised the importance of this collaboration in deepening educational and cultural connections between the two nations.

Her Excellency Aisha Miran, Director General at KHDA, highlighted how institutions like SIU play a key role in achieving Dubai’s goal of becoming a top 10 global education hub by 2033.
Programs, Partnerships & Future Plans
The Dubai campus offers internationally recognised degrees in high-demand fields like business, computer science, and media studies. Programs include a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) with specialisations in AI and Data Science, and Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication.
The university also signed partnerships with organisations like Aston University, Dubai Police, and IEEE. These collaborations will provide scholarships, foster research, and create industry connections, enhancing opportunities for students.
