The previous single-lane road will be replaced by an 11-kilometre dual-carriageway with two lanes in each direction and three roundabouts to provide enough flow in both directions. This announcement was made by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This new road will be connecting Saih Al-Salam Road and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. It will open today (Tuesday, May 24). The Saih Al-Dahal Road Improvement Project is the name of this project.
The new route will make it easier to go to the Al Qudra Lakes and reduce traffic congestion. This road upgrade project, as per the RTA, will raise the current road capacity from 1800 to 4000 vehicles. This could improve traffic management for residents as well as visitor access to the Al Qudra Lakes area and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The road improvements will begin near the Al Qudra Cycling Station at the intersection of Saih Al-Dahal Road and Saih Al-Salam Road North and will continue south to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
