Dalma Historical Race Festival
The Dalma Historical Race Festival is a celebration of traditional sports and festival tourism, showcasing the enduring popularity of these events. It aims to support community events and Emirati productive families, while also reviving traditional marine traditions and giving younger generations the chance to experience and value them.
The festival highlights the historical value and natural beauty of the Emirati islands in the Al Dhafra region, especially Dalma Island, which is the only place where the 60-foot dhow sailing race takes off. The race covers a distance of 80 nautical miles (125km) and touches eight islands before finishing at Al Mirfa city.

In addition to the exhilarating sailing race, the festival also includes a full lineup of traditional and aquatic activities, such as fishing competitions, dominoes contests, carrom tournaments, cycling, running, fireworks, theater events, and other folklore shows. The Souq, which showcases Emirati maritime heritage, and the Children’s Village & Theater with daily competitions and prizes, heritage and folk contests, traditional handicrafts, and other functions cater to all age groups.
