What is the most expensive meal you’ve splurged on? Probably a few hundreds. But when you splurge in the Middle East, it has to be slightly OTT (over the top). Making the rounds on the internet is a restaurant bill worth AED 615,065 that was spent at the popular Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Abu Dhabi.
Owner & chef Nusret Gökçe, posted the picture on his Instagram with the caption “Quality never expensive”. Nusret Gökçe is a Turkish entrepreneur who you probably know better as ‘Salt Bae’. He became an internet sensation a couple of years ago for the way he would cut, prepare and season meat. He owns a chain of luxury steak houses across 7 countries.

The bill comes as no surprise when you think of the five bottles of Petrus ordered, which alone came up to AED 325,000. Another order of two bottles of Petrus 2009 Louis XIII was worth AED 200,000. Psst don’t worry, there was a Heineken on there for AED 55 too 😉
Nusr-Et Steakhouse is known to have expensive and theatric items on the menu including a gold burger and a gold Tomahawk, both covered in gold leaves. Check out this gold steak!
