Activities and habits distract drivers from the road while driving, which may cause serious road accidents. The police of Abu Dhabi have warned drivers against such activities.
These habits include eating, fixing make-up for women, using mobile phones and taking photos or videos.
A fine of AED 800 and four black traffic points will be given to distracted drivers.
This rule has been incorporated because these habits make drivers inattentive and compromise the safety of themselves and the safety of other road users.
According to traffic officers, many road accidents were caused by a lack of concentration and negligence, mainly because of drivers speaking on mobile phones, browsing social media sites or taking videos while driving.
