A small fire that erupted late Wednesday in Dubai has been extinguished. The fire was started by an electric cable in an industrial area of Jebel Ali, according to the Dubai Government Media Office. There were no injuries reported. Residents in Dubai, meanwhile, reported hearing a “bang.” Netizens reported the explosion late on Wednesday, causing a social media frenzy.
The incident occurred after 9.30 p.m., according to social media users. The explosion was not as loud or as intense as the one identified in July of last year, according to many witnesses. The fire started with an explosion inside a carton on board a ship at Jebel Ali Port, but it was quickly put out with no casualties.
