2. Benjarong
The Dusit Thani’s signature restaurant Benjarong has long been a top spot to tuck into Thai food in the city, and the extensive renovation finished late last year gives you even more reason to visit. It was highly commended at this year’s Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards. No matter how many times we see them, the breathtaking views of the Dubai skyline and the busy Sheikh Zayed Road below from the 24th floor never fail to take our breath away. However, we can never resist the allure of a Thai green curry.

8. TABŪ
The location is enormous, spanning two floors. We predict this will be popular with Dubai’s party scene because it has a private party area and an upstairs nightclub with a secretive, dark atmosphere called The Other Side. The terrace offers spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa and a location for a seriously good Instagram shot; imagine Cé La Vi’s swing but with sculptures of sumo wrestlers. The menu is Japanese with a modern twist and is part of a fine-dining concept. The unique and dramatic plates come from chef Roberto Segura, who also created Waka Restaurant & Bar in The Oberoi, Business Bay.

9. Observatory Bar & Grill
The Observatory, an oldie but a goodie, is still one of the best places to take guests that you want to impress. The views of the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina from the 52nd floor are simply unbeatable, and this is a great place if you enjoy meat because there are many prime cuts available. It might not be as trendy and brand-new as some of the places on this list, but it still has a lot of power.

One of the most talked-about Japanese restaurants in Dubai this year, even though it has only been open for a little over a year. With a prime location on the 51st floor of The Palm Tower and a buzzing atmosphere whether you go for lunch or are one of the last customers to leave at 2 in the morning, SUSHISAMBA is one of those international brands that has brought its A-game to Dubai. 11. Weslodge Saloon
If you close your eyes at Weslodge Saloon, you might be able to fool yourself into thinking you’ve visited Toronto’s CN Tower. This Canadian restaurant is perched on the 68th floor of the JW Marriott Marquis and was highly commended in our category for the best North American and Caribbean restaurant at our 2021 restaurant awards. The views are breathtaking, and it’s unquestionably one of the best places in the city to enjoy poutine, a beloved comfort food that now includes the welcome addition of lobster.

12. ZETA Seventy-Seven
The rooftop infinity pool, which is regrettably only accessible to in-house guests, is all anyone can talk about when it comes to the recently opened Address Beach Resort. But if you climb to ZETA Seventy-Seven, which is, you guessed it, on the 77th floor, you can take in the same view. Again, the costs are exorbitant, with minimum table spends starting at AED 700, but how often can you say you dined next to the tallest infinity pool in the world?

13. Al Dawaar Revolving Restaurant
The decision of where to sit in a restaurant is important, and we’re not ashamed to admit that we’ve frequently moved from window to window, sat down, and then got up again. However, at Al Dawaar Revolving Restaurant, you can be sure that you will always have the best view of Dubai. You can savour traditional buffet fare while taking in 360-degree views of Deira and beyond during the 90 minutes it takes to complete the full rotation. The novelty wears off eventually, we’ll admit (it’s the only rotating restaurant in the city for a reason), but the views from the 25th floor make this place well worth a trip at least once.

14. Al Muntaha
Another hotel to cross off your Dubai bucket list is The Burj Al Arab. If you can’t afford the steep room rate, a good way to check it out is at the sky-high Al Muntaha restaurant in Dubai. You can enjoy fine French cuisine and breathtaking views from the 27th floor. The prices here are still as exorbitant as you might anticipate, even though you may be swerving the room rate. You only have one life, after all.

15. Carna by Dario Cecchini
On the 74th floor of the brand-new SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences in Dubai’s Business Bay, Italian butcher Dario Cecchini debuted his first restaurant in Dubai earlier this year. Italian eighth-generation butcher Cecchini is passionate about waste-free cooking and sustainable produce. He has spent more than 43 years honing his craft. Cecchini is from the Chianti region of Tuscany. Must-try dishes at Carna Dubai include the renowned bistecca alla Fiorentina from Tuscany, which is said to be one of the butcher-chef’s most well-known creations, as well as Chianti sushi and Cecchini’s version of tartare made with his own olive oil. Additionally, the views from the high vantage point are breathtaking.

16. CÉ LA VI
If you reside in Dubai, it is virtually impossible to scroll through your Instagram feed without coming across at least one photo of a person posing on the swing outside of the Burj Khalifa at CÉ LA VI. All of us have been there and done that; are you one of them? You’d better book something right away. For those who have been to the original CÉ LA VI, up on the roof of the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, you can expect contemporary Asian food in addition to the breathtaking photo opportunities from the 54th floor, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. Ensure that you are wearing your best “fit” and that your phone is fully charged (for all those pictures, of course).

17. Highest View Restaurant & Lounge
When it first opened in 2018, the Gevora Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road surpassed the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai to claim the title of highest hotel in the world from a height of… one metre. Since then, the Gevora Hotel and we have dined on its fame, and the Highest View is a fantastic way to take it all in. The 75th floor is still quite high, even though it might not have the best views on this list, and the afternoon tea is reasonably priced.

With its interior that resembles a rainforest and its panoramic views, this vibrant location was practically made for Instagram. After you’ve finished taking photos, savour dishes like braised short ribs, spicy tuna maki rolls, and red snapper ceviche.

We can see why this Mediterranean restaurant at the Taj in JLT is currently one of the most popular spots in the area. You’ll feel like you’re on a Greek island as you graze on dishes like tzatziki, tiropita, and grilled octopus while admiring the breathtaking views from the 46th floor. We’ve passed many an hour here on a Thursday or Friday night; Paros was really made for sundowners.

20. Prime68
The Prime68 restaurant is situated on the 68th floor of the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, as you might have guessed from the name. The breathtaking (some might even say prime…) cuts of meat on offer here rival the exceptional view of the city. The truffle mac and cheese at this restaurant is some of the best in Dubai, even if you don’t eat meat.
