Dubai Police Unveils First All Woman SWAT Team

In some excellent news, and a move ahead in gender equality Dubai police has unveiled its first all woman SWAT team. Dubai has made history by forming its first all-women Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

This was announced by the Dubai Police General Command as part of its efforts to empower women in all policing disciplines. The team members were selected based on a set of criteria and their passion for working in this field. They have received specialized training covering every aspect of SWAT missions including tactical shooting, raids, snipers, and endurance.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, stated that the force is proud of its female personnel who are ambitious and eager to master every challenging field and specialization. He said that women in Dubai Police have always been present across all departments and have played vital civil and military roles. They have also held senior ranks and proudly represented the force in many local, regional and international forums and events.

Brigadier Obaid bin Yarouf Al Ketbi, Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Organization Protective Security and Emergency and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the UAE SWAT Challenge 2023, said that the team members have received specialized training covering every aspect of SWAT missions. He said that they have proven themselves capable of handling any challenge.
