In Dubai, you will soon be able to order a driverless cab. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said last year that self-driving taxis would be brought to trial in the city by the end of 2022, with an official debut planned for 2023. The announcement was made again on March 29, 2022, during the World Government Summit 2022.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the strategy. Sheikh Mohammed’s goal is to convert 25% of Dubai’s transportation trips to autonomous travel by 2030. The debut is compatible with Dubai’s future objectives and the city’s autonomous driving policy.
