Brace yourselves because this news might bring about some Dubai Mall flashbacks for you guys. From 2025 onwards, popular shopping destinations in Dubai like Mall of the Emirates (MoE), City Centre Deira, and City Centre Mirdif will be rolling out a new, paid parking system. I could hear all the sighs of disapproval from the other side of the screen. This change comes as part of a collaboration between Parkin, Dubai’s top public parking operator, and Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Properties. What’s Changing In The Parking Garage?

No more stopping at barriers! The new ‘barrierless parking’ system will use advanced technology to make entering and exiting mall parking lots quick and easy. Cameras will automatically capture your car’s license plate as soon as you enter. You’ll receive an SMS or notification via the Parkin app, informing you about parking fees. When it’s time to leave, simply pay through the app or Parkin’s website.

How Does It Compare to Dubai Mall?

So, if you’re familiar with Dubai Mall’s parking system, you’ll see some similarities. Dubai Mall already has a barrier-free system, but theirs is operated by Salik, Dubai’s toll service. There, parking fees are automatically taken from Salik user accounts. The new system at MoE and the other malls will work similarly, but with Parkin handling the charges.
