The 27th ICOM General Conference in 2025 will be hosted in Dubai. This announcement was tweeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of the UAE & Ruler of Dubai on November 20. This is the largest museum conference in the world, which is held every three years since 1948. ICOM is the International Council of Museums selects the city which will host its flagship conference.

On Saturday, Sheikh Mohammed tweeted that this conference will bring together about 119 countries which will cover about 20,000 international museums. The voting event took place on the 18th and 19th of November. over 130 members participated and Dubai won the bid with 68 votes. Dubai beat Sweden’s Stockholm (34 votes) and Russia’s Kazan (20 votes).
