Dubai’s Inspections In Residential Areas To Check The Violations Of Rules.

The Dubai Municipality has increased field inspections in residential areas in order to enforce rules concerning the “presence of singles (bachelors) or multiple families” in accommodations.  The initiative checks “guideline violations” to protect inhabitants’ comfort and safety.

The civic council has encouraged residents to abide by the applicable legislation. It invited citizens to call the toll-free hotline 800900 to report violations. This year, the municipality conducted 19,837 field visits on a daily basis to “take appropriate steps” against violators.

Those who sublet villas or flats in the emirates have previously been fined heavily. Overcrowding, residential unit partitioning, and illegal electricity supply have all been identified as fire concerns by civic organizations. Those who have broken the rules in this regard have had their utility services disconnected. Certain sections of the country are designated as ‘family only,’ and landlords are not permitted to rent flats or villas to bachelors. Thousands of bachelors have been evicted from such neighborhoods in Sharjah following inspections over the years. The municipality of the emirate also imposed fines for breaking subletting restrictions.

The Dubai Land Department notified all owners, developers, property management companies, and tenants on Friday (September 23) to register details of co-occupants in owned and leased homes. According to a circular released by the authority, the registration, which may be done through the Dubai REST app, must be completed within “maximum of two weeks with immediate effect.”

Tenants must complete an eight-step registration process, which includes inputting personal information and the Emirates ID. Co-occupant information will be automatically updated on the tenancy contract once registered.
