Emirates, a Dubai-based airline, will launch NFTs and metaverse experiences for its employees & customers. The airline announced plans to create trademark brand experiences in the metaverse, as well as collectable and utility-based NFTs.
The first projects are already underway, with a launch expected in the coming months, according to a statement. The airline also announced that its Emirates Pavilion at Expo 2020 will be repurposed as an innovation hub, bringing together talent to recognise projects such as the metaverse, NFTs, and Web3.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, of Emirates airline and Group, said: “Dubai and the UAE are blazing the way in the digital economy, having a clear vision supported by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas such as virtual assets, artificial intelligence, and data protection.”
