Effective Monday, May 16, 2022, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Security Ports (ICA) announced the suspension of separate Emirates ID issuance/renewal services for all categories of citizens excluding Dubai. The single form services will be utilised in requests for residence and ID issues or renewal, according to the statement.
Separate residency services (issue/renewal) will be provided only to individuals who have a separate ID request in the works, according to the ICA, with the services remaining in the account for a limited time. “Stopping the issuance of the residency sticker for UAE residents came into force as of April 11 and a new unified form was created for the issuance and renewal of residency and ID card, replacing the previous individual requests,” the ICA added.
According to the ICA, the UAEICP smart app allows residents to request a soft copy of their ID card for flexible use. The new generation of Emirates ID cards issued to UAE citizens includes all of the details previously indicated in the residence sticker. Given that personal and professional data, the issuing entity, and all other data are available on the back of the ID card, this increases the ID card’s value-added for verifying the personal identity of persons.
Customers can print their residency details electronically through their individual or company account via the ICA’s website www.icp.gov.ae or the UAEICP smart app in five steps, according to the ICA. “Thus, to print their residency details, customers are required to login to the website, choose smart channels, log into the system using the personal or business account and choose the service through the control panel,” the ICA added.
The department (emirate), primary services (other requests), sub-services (residency details), kind of operation (printing), filling out and checking application data, and fee payment is all included on the map of services.
