We’ve all been anxiously waiting for Expo 2020 Dubai. The lockdown caused by the spread of COVID 19 has impacted every way the economy and life around us functions. As we are aware, Expo 2020 Dubai had been postponed. Now they have announced the revised dates, from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
Our backward countdown for the Expo has begun!
UAE government and its Executive Committee had requested Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to postpone Expo 2020 Dubai to next year. On the proposal of the Executive Committee, the General Assembly of the BIE began voting on April 24, 2020. Even though the voting will continue until May 29, two thirds majority have already voted in favour of the revised dates.
On May 29, post the closure of voting days, we shall receive the formal announcement that the resolution in favour of Expo 2020 Dubai to be held from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 has been passed.
It has also been decided to maintain the name “Expo 2020 Dubai”.
Hosting the Expo in a post-pandemic world would create a platform to share ideas and strengthen relations when the world needs it the most. This is anticipated to be a great opportunity for innovative thinkers and business houses to reconvene and collaborate on brilliant programmes and initiatives.
