The FIFA World Cup’s preliminary playoffs are complete and fans just can’t wait for more! The head of the organising committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, His Excellency Hassan Al-Thawadi, remarked on Wednesday, June 22, that there has been a tremendous demand for tickets to the big international sporting event. During a conference at the Qatar Economic Forum, H.E. Hassan Al-Thawadi said “I think about 1.2 million tickets have already been purchased.” The organization’s executives later confirmed this number.
During the two phases of ticket releases online around 40 million ticket applications were made! WOW! HUGE NUMBER! Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, added that more than 5 million requests for tickets to the final game to be played at Lusail Stadium had been made about ticket applications. Only 80,000 seats are available at the stadium.
For the nearly four-week-long athletic event, two million tickets have been allocated for sale to football fans to attend the various games and stages. Since 1.2 million seats have already been sold, there will only be 800,000 more tickets available for sale to the public.
