Following the deadly drone strikes last week, the UAE has prohibited recreational drone flights across the country. Following the drone attacks in Abu Dhabi, drone pilots face “legal liabilities” for flying a drone in public locations.
Last Monday, a drone strike by the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen burned up multiple petroleum tankers in Abu Dhabi. Three persons were killed in the drone strike, while the UAE intercepted other attacks.

Drones were previously prohibited from flying in housing neighbourhoods and above airports in the UAE. However, the government took further steps to prohibit public drone flights across the nation.
To use drones for contracts, business, or advertising initiatives, users must first obtain authorization. Anybody caught without a permit faces a fine of AED50,000 or a year in prison. The prohibition on drones in the UAE will take effect on January 22.
