On Saturday, an automobile number plate auction in Dubai earned nearly AED 36.5 million, with the highest price of AED 5 million paid for plate number Q 22. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) hosted the 108th Open Auction for Distinctive Vehicle Number Plates at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City.
Meanwhile, Z 31 was sold for AED 2.820 million, V10000 was sold for AED 920,000, W500 was sold for AED 840,000, and O66666 was sold for AED 840,000. The RTA auctioned off 100 “fancy plates” with two, three, four, and five numbers from the categories K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-T-U-V-W-X-Z.
Many of the noteworthy numbers symbolise significant dates, symbols, events, and milestones in the life of automobile owners.
