For The Etihad Rail’s Implementation, RTA Announces A Traffic Diversion On The Emirates Road

The United Arab Emirates is getting a massive new railway network that will connect 11 towns across the nation. The trains will have a top speed of 200 kph and a capacity of 400 passengers. Approximately 70% of the track is currently laid across the country and the Etihad Rail is scheduled to commence by 2030. It would also reduce the time it takes to travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai to just 50 minutes, and it will connect to the Dubai Metro system.

This new network will connect all the seven emirates with Saudi Arabia. Recently, the RTA made a new announcement regarding the Etihad Rail. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has ordered a traffic diversion on Emirates Road near the city’s entrance. The route will be turned into a parallel two-lane road to undertake the Etihad Rail Project, according to RTA. The road diversions will begin today, June 8th. The RTA has asked that cars follow the directional and regulatory signage in the diversion area.
