If you’re a UAE citizen or resident, you know how important it is to carry your Emirates ID with you at all times. It serves as your primary form of identification and is a personal database that stores all your information. But what happens if you need to renew your ID, or worse, lose it? Luckily, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has come up with a solution that can help you get your ID within 24 hours. Read on to get all the details:
Fawri Service For 24 Hour Emirates ID
This service, called ‘Fawri’, is available for all age groups, including UAE nationals and GCC nationals. You can use it for the renewal of expired cards, lost or damaged cards, and first-time registration. However, expatriate residents who aren’t GCC nationals can only use the urgent service in case of a replacement of their identity cards.
To avail of the Fawri service, you can visit any of the ICP customer happiness centres located across the UAE without prior notice and present the necessary documents. The urgent service fee for obtaining your Emirates ID within 24 hours varies and can be found on the ICP website. It includes the card issuance fee for 5 or 10 years, service fee, typing centre fee, and an additional fee for the urgent service.
This initiative by the ICP is bound to save time and offer convenience to the UAE’s residents. Instead of waiting for weeks to receive your ID, you can now get it within 24 hours. This service is available across the UAE in various ICP customer happiness centres, from Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah.
