I love Hatta just as much as the next person – I mean the stunning landscapes, endless adventure & activities, rich heritage, and just so much more. And now Hatta is all set to introduce to the public its latest gem, the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls. The project, led by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), aims to transform Hatta into a vibrant tourism and investment hub, all while staying true to its roots. A Green Initiative – What Makes It Sustainable?

The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is a testament to Dubai’s commitment to sustainability. The project creates a natural waterfall by utilising the slope of the upper dam (Al Ghabra dam). The water used in the attraction is collected, recycled, and pumped back to the top of the dam. This is the key to making sure the entire process is a sustainable cycle.

More Than Just A Waterfall

The excitement doesn’t stop at the waterfall. A picturesque waterway will be constructed along the parking area below the dam, offering visitors the perfect backdrop for memorable photos. Additionally, the stream will be home to a variety of fish, adding to the allure of the attraction for tourists and families alike.

Visitors can also look forward to recreational spaces, including children’s play areas, cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. It’s a perfect blend of nature and leisure, providing a unique experience for all who visit.

Joining The Ranks Of UAE’s Iconic Attractions

The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is set to join the ranks of other iconic waterfalls in the UAE, such as the Hanging Gardens in Sharjah’s Kalba. These attractions are not only marvels of engineering but also draw in crowds from far and wide, solidifying their status as must-visit destinations in the UAE.

While the dates of the opening are yet to be announced, we anticipate that it will be opening very soon. Stay tuned to Gulf Buzz for the latest updates on all things UAE!
