Renewal Options Available
UAE citizens have five channels available to them for obtaining, renewing, or replacing lost or damaged passports. These channels include:
- General Departments of Residency and Foreigners Affairs/Citizenship Section
- Nationality and Residence portal (eChannels)
- Online passport service for citizens
- Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP)
- Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah Airports
24/7 Passport Renewal Service at Airports
The passport renewal service at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports is now available 24/7. This means that if you have lost, damaged, or expired your Emirati passport, all you need to do is contact the UAE embassy or consulate, and you can obtain a new one at the airport.

Required Documents
When applying for a new passport, UAE citizens need to submit three documents:
- A family book or a copy of it
- The original ID or a copy of it
- A recent personal photo
Validity Period of UAE Passports
UAE passports are valid for a maximum of five years.
