Eid al Adha 2024: Expected dates for five-day summer weekend revealed

When Is Arafat Day & Eid Al Adha?

According to the forecasts, the Arafat Day, an important precursor to Eid, is expected to fall on Sunday, June 16. This significant day leads right into a three-day public holiday across the UAE to celebrate Eid Al Adha, starting from Monday, June 17th, until Wednesday, June 19th.

How Many Days Off Will We Get?

With the convenience of the weekend placed just before the start of Arafat Day, the people of UAE will be able to enjoy a relaxing 5-day long break! Starting from Saturday, June 15th, until Wednesday, June 19th!

The Start of Dhu al-Hijjah

In more detailed astronomical updates, it’s predicted that Dhu al-Hijjah, the final and one of the most sacred months of the Islamic year, will begin on Saturday, June 8. It’s a month of great significance, culminating in the week-long pilgrimage of Hajj and, naturally, the beloved festival of Eid Al Adha, which falls on the third day of Hajj.

The chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, also shared more insights, pointing towards Thursday, June 20, as the likely conclusion of Tashriq and the Hajj season.
