In the region, the first completely functional digital concept store has opened. The Store of the Future, which is located in the Mall of the Emirates, is a cooperation between Majid Al Futtaim and Cisco. The first retailer to take over the Store of the Future is THAT Concept Store, they are offering a diverse range of lifestyle, fashion and beauty products to the cutting-edge retail environment, both physically and virtually.

It makes use of cutting-edge technology to give customers a fully immersive, customised, and digitalized shopping experience. Virtual mirrors, augmented reality, wireless networking, and smart cameras that analyse customer behaviour are all on the horizon. It’s all quite cool.

There are still tangible items that can be directly touched and tried on, with technology augmenting and making the experience more engaging. The store’s “Lifft and Learn” feature, for example, identify when an item is taken off the shelf and displays further information about it on the screen right away. Using augmented reality, the beauty mirrors enable you to see what matches you while shopping for cosmetics.  There’s no need to make a mess.

The Store of the Future aims to make safe shopping possible in a post-pandemic world by accepting contactless payments via the Mall of the Emirates app or card. Your goods can then be delivered right to your front door.
