Travelling from the UAE during the summer holidays can be costly, but here are some fantastic money-saving tips to help you. One such hack is knowing the ‘cheapest week of summer’ for more affordable trips. Research conducted by online travel agency Skyscanner reveals that 91 percent of UAE travellers plan to vacation this summer, yet only 4 percent are searching for trips during the ‘cheapest week of summer.’ The study involved 1,000 UAE-based respondents. Skyscanner has shared valuable tips for securing the best deals:

1. Take Advantage Of The Cheapest Week Of Summer:

Traveling during the week of August 19 can save you 10 percent on average, equivalent to an average saving of AED 760 for a family of four, compared to the start of July.

2. Opt For Flights During The Working Week:

Flying on less popular days of the week in July and August can result in savings of up to 35 percent. For example, choosing a Friday instead of a Saturday for travel to Türkiye can save a family of four an average of AED 669 on return travel.

3. Conduct Thorough Searches For The Best Deals:

If you haven’t booked your summer trip yet, flights are estimated to cost AED 431 per person on average. Skyscanner reveals deals to popular destinations like Georgia from AED 274 return, Israel from AED 344, Cyprus from AED 348, and Jordan from AED 359 in August.

4. Consider Different Departure Airports:

Airfares may vary depending on the UAE airport, influenced by factors such as airlines and routes. Comparing different departure options can lead to potential savings.

Skyscanner’s travel expert, Ayoub El Mamoun, emphasises the importance of comparing travel options and encourages travellers to use the tools provided for quick and easy comparisons. Despite making sacrifices to save for their summer holidays, many UAE travellers often overlook the benefits of shopping around for vacation deals, unlike when they do their weekly grocery shopping. By taking advantage of available resources, significant savings can be achieved.
