Ramadan in Abu Dhabi: Detailed Guide On Paid Parking, Toll Gate Timings, Public Buses & More

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has released transportation guidelines for the public. These guidelines cover paid parking hours, toll gate timings, and public bus schedules during the month of Ramadan.

Paid Parking Hours and Toll Gate Timings

During Ramadan, parking fees will be applied in Abu Dhabi as per the current timing from Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 am to midnight. However, parking will be free of charge on Sundays. The peak hours of the Darb toll gate system will be modified during Ramadan to start from 8:00 am to 10:00 am in the morning period, and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the evening period. The toll charges will be applied from Monday to Saturday, and will be free of charge on Sundays.

Public Bus Services

Public bus services will be available throughout the week in the city of Abu Dhabi and its suburbs during Ramadan. The services in the city of Abu Dhabi will operate from 5:00 am and 6:00 am until 1:00 am. In the suburbs of Abu Dhabi, the services will operate from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm. In Al Ain, the public bus services will operate from 7:00 am until 2:00 am in the city, and from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm in its suburbs. Some services will operate until midnight. The public bus services in Al Dhafrah will operate at the current service hours with minimal changes. However, the service will not be operational during Iftar time.

Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Express services will operate from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm during weekdays and from 6:00 am to 1:00 am during weekends. The on-demand bus service, “Abu Dhabi Link,” will be available from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm throughout the week. There will be a slight change in the frequency of some of the services provided.

Customer’s Happiness Centres

During the holy month of Ramadan, the Customer’s Happiness Centers in Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Al Ain City Municipality will be open to customers from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and on Friday from 9:00 am to noon.

The ITC’s guidelines provide clear information on transportation and parking during Ramadan in Abu Dhabi. The public can plan their travel and parking arrangements accordingly. Public bus services will be available throughout the week with some changes in the frequency of services, and parking fees and toll charges will be applied as per the current timing. By following these guidelines, individuals can have a peaceful and enjoyable Ramadan in the UAE.
