Rules For Close Contact COVID-19 Cases Updated By The UAE

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) published the new restrictions on Twitter. The UAE standards for close contact with Covid-19 cases have been amended, and they are now in place as of Friday, March 25. There is no need to isolate or do five day PCR testing if you come into contact with someone who tests positive for Covid-19. Instead, you must now get a PCR on day 1 (the day you had contact with the individual who had Covid-19) and again on day 7.

According to the newest Dubai Health Authority guidelines, if you test positive for Covid-19 in Dubai, you should isolate yourself immediately and quarantine at home for 10 days (DHA).

Those who test positive for Covid-19 in Abu Dhabi must follow a distinct set of procedures. Those over the age of 50, with a chronic ailment, or who are pregnant should go to one of the authorised Covid-19 prime Assessment Centers for medical evaluation and isolation measures.

Those with mild or moderate symptoms who do not fit into the following categories should retest at an Abu Dhabi health institution before continuing to isolate. If you return with a 2nd PCR, you should stay at home for 10 days and have a PCR test on day 6 if you’re vaccinated and day 9 if you’re unvaccinated.
