Due to the upcoming Eid Al-Adha long weekend many individuals are considering taking one or two days off from work to maximise their enjoyment of the anticipated extended holiday in the UAE. As a result, a significant number of these individuals have expressed a desire to travel abroad, preferably to a European country. Why Is There Unavailability of Schengen Visa Appointments until September?
Travel agents throughout the UAE have reported a substantial surge in demand for Schengen Visa appointments. Consequently, UAE residents who wish to secure such appointments will now need to wait until September! In fact, according to a report by the Khaleej Times, these travel agents are receiving up to 700 inquiries per day. It is worth noting that although the processing time for visas has decreased, the unprecedented surge in demand has resulted in all appointment slots being fully booked. Numerous agencies are receiving a significant influx of inquiries, including emails, chats, and website queries.
Unprecedented Number Of Appointment Inquiries
The rush for visas is so intense that even premium services, which can be obtained by paying an additional AED400, are no longer available! The report also highlights that some individuals are willing to pay double this amount for an appointment, yet all slots are already occupied. Furthermore, many individuals with salaries of AED5000 or more aspire to travel to Schengen countries. However, it is worth mentioning that a few individuals who planned well in advance have managed to secure their visas.
It comes as no surprise that this surge in demand has occurred, as Europe remains a highly sought-after holiday destination for UAE residents. The demand has only intensified with the arrival of summer and the upcoming Eid Al-Adha holiday. Therefore, if you are also considering traveling to the Schengen area later this year, it is crucial to contact a travel agent promptly to secure your desired appointment slot.
