Authorities in the UAE have told residents not to panic if they see marine snakes on Dubai and Sharjah beaches. The Emirate’s Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) said people should ‘exercise caution and remain calm if they find one.’ They also said these snakes are a common thing due to ‘seasonal phenomenon’ and ‘weather changes.’ These snakes are usually 1m long and rarely bit, but they can be dangerous as well.
“Please keep in mind that marine snakes are peaceful and shy creatures that do not cause harm unless approached and threatened,” the authority posted on Instagram. Authorities asked visitors and residents to immediately get in touch with EPAA if they spot a snake. Call EPAA on +97165047777 or WhatsApp: +971562163939.
