This weekend, the public may visit the historic and beautiful Al Wathba Fossil Dune Protected Area, which has over 1,700 unique fossil dunes. The breathtaking natural wonder is over 120,000 years old and is home to over 1,700 unique fossil dunes strewn across 7 sq. km. This Saturday, the public will be able to visit the beautiful site for the first time.

The country’s first of its kind fossil Dune is currently a legally protected area. The fossils are formed as a result of a mix of powerful desert sand and winds kept together by large salt crystals. Visitors can follow the bright trails which will help them to explore the historic site better.

A viewing area and a gallery corner are also present. About 45 kilometres to the east of Abu Dhabi is where you can find this place. This site is open from 8 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and until 11 PM on the weekends and public holidays.
