If you missed the meteor shower, there are two more celestial events coming up sooner than you think. On August 15th (today), you can witness the Mars and Jupiter conjunction at 2 am. This close encounter will see the two planets appear just a third of a degree apart, which is less than the width of the full moon. Then, on Monday, August 19, a supermoon will grace the sky. A supermoon occurs when the moon is closest to Earth in its elliptical orbit, making it look larger and brighter than usual.
