Christmas Celebrations At Expo City Dubai – Winter City
Beginning Friday, 9 December a whole range of Christmas celebrations will be underway. Winter City is absolutely free to visit, which means that everyone is welcome to the Christmas delight. Please note that a few activities & workshops are chargeable.
Here’s what you can look forward to from December 9th:
- A jaw-dropping 52-foot Christmas tree that will be lit up at Al Wasl Dome, celebrating the theme of ‘White Christmas’
- The second edition of Expo 2020’s popular Mrs Claus Christmas Show from December 20-29 which will include live entertainment, and something you should definitely not miss out on!
- Daily nightly projection shows
- Gingerbread, wreath and ornament-making workshops
- A Santa’s Grotto
- A dedicated place for kids to post their letters to Santa
- Jumping, sliding, climbing and zip-lining activities
- Carols by Candlelight show from December 20-25

2. Dubai Super Cup 2022
Dates: 8 December 2022 to 16 December 2022
Another one to add to your list of things to do in Dubai this week. Dubai is all set to host the inaugural edition of the ‘Dubai Super Cup 2022’ from December 8-16 2022 at the Al Maktoum Stadium in Al-Nasr Club. English football clubs Liverpool and Arsenal; Italian football club AC Milan, and French football club Olympique Lyonnais will be participating in the event.

3. Sole DXB Music Event
Location: Dubai Design District
Dates: Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11
The festival will feature designers, athletes, speakers and creatives from the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and beyond.
There will be DJ sets, live performances, workshops, talks, film screenings and sports events. You can expect a competitive streetball tournament, a fun Sneaker swap activation event and a curated assortment of the world’s prestigious fashion labels. The event will also feature installations from The Giving Movement, Puma and New Balance.
The high-profile extravaganza will feature events in partnership with popular brands like Philips, Cashew, Launch Metrics and Bureau Béatrice to create customised experiences inspired by street culture.
4. Tomorrowland’s Terra Solis

For the launch on Friday, December 9th, German DJ and Tomorrowland regular Paul Kalkbrenner is set to headline the opening! 5. Nancy Ajram Live At Global Village

Following the start of the highly anticipated Season 27 concerts, Global Village announced that Arab superstar Nancy Ajram will be performing live on Monday, December 12 starting 9pm, at the Global Village Main Stage. Chosen by the UNICEF as the first female regional ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa in 2009, Ajram is an influential contributor in the Arab music industry and has previously been named one of the top female Arab artists by Forbes, and the world’s bestselling Middle Eastern artist at the World Music Awards.
