What Is The Hunter Supermoon?
The Hunter Supermoon, also called the Hunter’s Moon, is steeped in history. Its name marks back to a time when hunters were most active as autumn set in. But this year’s Hunter Supermoon is particularly remarkable. According to the BBC’s Sky at Night Magazine, it will be the brightest, largest, and most full moon we’ll witness all year. This stunning appearance is due to the moon reaching its closest point to Earth in its orbit, a position known as ‘Perigee’.

This moon will be the second-to-last supermoon of the year, with one more arriving mid-November. The Dubai Astronomy Group is hosting an extraordinary lunar event on Thursday, October 17th so that you can get the best view of the moon. The event will be held at The University of Dubai, where experts will walk you through the phenomenon. Plus, you’ll have access to telescopes that will give you an up-close and personal look at the moon in all its glory. The event fee is ranges from AED 40 – AED 80.
