As part of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, Dubai established a global record. Under the tagline ‘Different Languages, One Message: We Love the UAE,’ the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Aramex, collected the greatest number of greeting cards from around the world.
People from over 100 nations sent greeting cards to the UAE as part of the worldwide celebration. In addition, Dubai locals commemorated the occasion by producing over 5,000 greeting cards.
A massive mural was constructed in the heart of Dubai Festival City, depicting pictures of people from all over the globe dressed in iconic city costumes and carrying enormous greeting cards stating the event’s theme. The artwork includes comments written in many languages congratulating the UAE on its Golden Jubilee.
Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, said: “The initiative adds to the UAE’s tally of Guineas World Records in terms of innovative events and community-based and collective initiatives carried out with our partners in the private sector.”
Ahmed Marie, general manager of Aramex in the UAE, added: “This achievement will raise the image of the UAE and its pioneering role across the world at a time where the country is celebrating its Golden Jubilee.”
