UAE Golden Visa Rules Updated ; New Entry Permit Fees Announced

UAE authorities have announced updates to the fees for issuing a six-month entry permit for those who want to apply for a 10-year UAE Golden Visa. Read on to know all the details:

What Is The Golden Visa?

The Golden Visa is designed to attract and retain skilled professionals and investors in the country, and it is granted to several categories of people, including talents such as scientists and specialists, investors in public investments, real estate investors, entrepreneurs, top high school achievers, graduates of accredited universities in the UAE, graduates of accredited universities outside the country, and workers in the first line of defence.

Fees Increased For Golden Visa

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has set a new fee of AED 1,250 for the entry permit, which includes a range of charges such as AED 1,000 for issuance, AED 100 for the application, AED 100 for smart services, AED 28 for e-services, and AED 22 for Federal Authority fees.

Documents Required For Golden Visa Application

Documents required for the issuance of the six-month entry permit include passport, a coloured personal photo, and proof of eligibility for the Golden Visa. Among those eligible for long-term residency in the UAE are investors, entrepreneurs, top talents, scholars and specialists, outstanding high school graduates, graduates of accredited universities, and frontline heroes.

The authority also specified that applications for entry permits will be rejected electronically after 30 days if the application is incomplete or if there are data deficiencies. If the application is returned three times due to data defects or failure to provide required documents, it will be rejected.

Refunds for the fees will only be issued if the application is rejected and will be made through credit card within six months of submitting the application or through check or bank transfer, but only for banks located within the country, and within a period not exceeding five years.
