This July, UAE will be able to witness the gaze of the all-powerful ‘Thunder Moon’. This full moon is going to shine brighter and look much larger than normal, so there’s no way that you’ll miss it.
Why Is It Called The Thunder Moon?
You might be wondering why it’s named the Thunder Moon. The name comes from the natural events occurring around this time of year, a tradition started by Indigenous Americans long ago. The Thunder Moon gets its name from the likelihood of thunderstorms during this period (sadly, there will be none for us). But that’s not its only name. July’s full moon is also known as the Halfway Summer Moon, marking the midpoint of the summer season. Another name is the Buck Moon, as it’s the time of year when male deer, or bucks, display their impressive antlers.
