The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently announced that it will be providing visa on arrival for visitors coming from more than 70 nationalities. This includes India, one of the largest sources of tourists to the UAE, as long as certain documents are provided. The UAE government has launched ambitious tourism targets that aim to attract USD 123 billion to the economy and 40 million hotel guests per year by 2031. UAE Digital Government Official Update
The UAE Digital Government recently provided an update on the availability of visa on arrival for people from over 70 nationalities coming to the UAE. In a social media message, it stated that “some nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival to the UAE, while others need to apply for a visa in advance,” before providing a guide that lists which nationalities are eligible for visa on arrival.

GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) citizens do not require a visa to enter the UAE; they just need to present their GCC country passport or national ID card at the point of entry.
For other nationalities, a visa on arrival is offered for those with an original passport with at least six months left before its expiry date and a round-trip airline ticket or confirmed ticket to another destination. The visa on arrival is available in 30-day and 90-day categories, depending on the passport.
