Early next year, Umm Al Quwain Mangrove Reserve will unveil an exciting new ecotrail that promises a unique glimpse into the fascinating wildlife of the UAE. From glow-in-the-dark geckos to massive green turtles weighing over 100kg, this trail will introduce visitors to some truly extraordinary species. Announced on World Tourism Day, the project is designed to immerse both locals and tourists in the rich biodiversity of the coastal lagoon. Connecting People With Nature
The UAQ Department of Tourism and Archaeology revealed that the ecotrail would give visitors a special opportunity to engage with nature in a more meaningful way. With the goal of raising awareness about the ecological importance of the lagoon, the trail will provide a hands-on experience where people can discover its stunning wildlife and ecosystems.

Sustainable Design & Features
Built with eco-friendly materials, the trail will harmonize with the natural beauty of the area. Haytham Sultan Al Ali, Director General of the UAQ Department of Tourism and Archaeology, explained that the trail will include a 250m wooden boardwalk and a 1.8km guided dune path. To protect the environment, the path will feature solar-powered red lights, ensuring minimal light pollution. There will also be shaded areas and an observatory majlis for visitors to rest and take in the surroundings.
