All history buffs out there here is a place for you! Mleiha, a UNESCO-nominated World Heritage Site in the Central Region of the Sharjah map, is the home of numerous historic sites. Pre-Islamic forts, Bronze Age tombs and many more historic sites can be found here. According to visitsharjah.com, “Fascinating artefacts and fossils were discovered here, including pottery, iron tools and camel skeletons. The Mleiha Archaeological Centre, which opened in 2016, houses these discoveries and even more artefacts that uncover ancient UAE history.”
You can even make it a picnic out of the visit by taking up some activities. Activities that are offered here are desert safari, riding a quad bike or dune buggy, trekking to Camel Rock and camping under the stars.
