World’s Largest ‘Tour De France’ Style Cycling Race Is Coming To Dubai

Dubai is gearing up to host one of the world’s largest cycling events in 2025 – L’Etape Dubai. Over 2,000 participants will hit the pedals on Sunday, February 2. Cyclists will face a challenging 110km course, but the event isn’t just for hardcore racers – there are shorter, more accessible routes, so families, kids, and casual riders can join in on the fun, too! What’s In Store For Participants?

The highlight of the weekend is a challenging 110km race that will push participants to their limits. L’Etape Dubai will take over two action-packed days with multiple race options. While the exact route details are yet to be revealed, we know the course will showcase some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks. Be ready for some road closures as the city turns into a cycling hub for the weekend. To add to the excitement, a racing village will be set up at the start and finish lines, creating a lively atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

Saturday’s Events: Fun For All Ages

The cycling festivities kick off on Saturday, February 1, with events catered to younger riders and families. The day starts with a special kids’ race, where children can test their cycling skills over distances of either 300 meters or 3 kilometres, depending on their experience. The kids’ race starts at 9 am. Following that, at 9:30 am, families can enjoy a 20km ride together. To keep the day full of excitement, there will be plenty of entertainment and activities at the start and finish lines for everyone to enjoy.

Sunday: The Main Event

Sunday, February 2, will see the main L’Etape Dubai race, which spans an impressive 110 kilometres. For those who prefer a less intense challenge, there’s “The Ride,” a 60km route that also offers a taste of the city’s streets. Both races will start bright and early at 6 am, allowing cyclists to enjoy Dubai’s roads in the fresh morning air.

Ready to ride? Make sure you register in time! If you’re interested in the shorter 60km “The Ride,” you have until Monday, September 30, to sign up. For those looking to take on the full 110km challenge, registration for “The Race” is open until Tuesday, December 31. In preparation for the big event, several training and qualifying races will take place starting in September.
